Executive Career Development: Executive Challenges in the Global Environment
Once again building on a successful conference in 2008, the International Conference for Police & Law Enforcement Executives continued to grow in 2009. This year's conference was hosted in historic Halifax, Nova Scotia. 33 speakers representing 9 countries spoke on the importance of re-examining and re-creating law enforcement organizations to address emerging issues. In addition to highly regarded police chiefs, private sector executives offered their perspectives on the vital task of adjusting to create the future.
Keynote speakers included Director Robert Mueller III, Federal Bureau of Investigation; Mr. Jim Balsillie, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Research in Motion; Commissioner Julian Fantino, Ontario Provincial Police; Chief Frank Beazley, Halifax Regional Police; Deputy Director General Steven Chabot, Sûreté du Québec; and Dr. Arla Day, PhD, CN Centre for Occupational Health & Safety, Saint Mary's University.
